Make Beats Online

January 2nd, 2009

For those of you who are interested in how to make beats online, I am going to review three digital audio workstations that will allow you to make beats on your computer. The three that I have chosen all have a commonality; they are each a sequencer-based program which is essential if you want to make your own rap beats. The following programs I will review are in my opinion, the best beat making programs at their respective price levels. The most expensive being Cubase, followed by FL Studio 8, and Sonic Producer as the most economical option of the three. I will give a short overview of each program before reviewing each in separate posts.

Pirates of the Caribbean Remix

This is actually my first full piece that I made with FL Studio. Personally, I think the mastering could use a lot of work. Any feedback is appreciated!

Welcome to Audible Scene!

January 1st, 2009

First off, I’d like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and much good fortune in 2009. Though it is seems somewhat designed to have the first post on the first day of the year, I can assure you, it just kind of… happened that way.

The intent of Audible Scene is to provide resources for anyone who is interested in music production. My goal is to provide reviews, tutorials, free samples/sounds, and anything else that may help in music production. The resources provided will help anyone starting from the  beginner, simply looking to make beats online, to the more advanced.

To give you a little information about myself on the subject, I have had many years of classical training on the piano which spurred my interest in composition. In the past year or so I’ve have dabbled with various digital audio workstations, and have created a few pieces on FL Studio. My setup is an M-Audio Axiom 49 midi controller, an Audiophile 192 sound card, a Roland Fantom-X8 (for sampling purposes) and I am currently in the proccess of switching to a macbook pro.

Thanks for stopping by. Check out the next post for some goodies!
